Hollie Doyle has been ruled out of action due to an injury sustained while riding at Bath on Friday.
What happened?
The 29-year-old jockey was taken to hospital after falling from the Kevin Frost-trained Vault Of Heaven.
She had ridden ten winners in the last fortnight, including a victory on the Archie Watson-trained Flight Signal at Bath on Friday night.
Impact on her season
Doyle was on track to ride a century of winners for the seventh year running in 2025, but finished two short of the target.
She has ridden 1,135 British winners in her career, including ten at Group 1 level.
Reaction from her husband
Tom Marquand, Doyle's husband, spoke to RacingTV at Goodwood, saying "She's gutted first and foremost".
He added that Doyle is due to have an operation and hopes to sort it out quickly.
Doyle has 53 wins already on the board in 2026, and is more than halfway towards the landmark.
Road to recovery
In a post on Instagram, Doyle wrote: "Thank you for all the messages, unfortunately I will be on the sidelines for a while after sustaining an injury at Bath yesterday".
She added "I'll be back" and that her thoughts are with the connections of Vault Of Heaven.
Doyle's mount in the feature British Stallion Studs EBF Cathedral Stakes on Zoum Zoum has gone to Daniel Muscutt.
Her injury is a leg injury, and thankfully nothing more serious.
Doyle is expected to have an operation and then concentrate on getting back as fast as possible.
She will miss a full card of rides at Salisbury, which was scheduled for Saturday evening.
The jockeys' championship is still in its early stages, but Doyle's injury may affect her chances.
Doyle's fans will be waiting for her return to the track, and hoping she can regain her form quickly.
